brrr...cold! [16 Mar 2006|03:58pm]
[ mood | go away winter! ]

So it looks like winter has come back for a day. I mean, i know it's still TECHNICALLY winter but we've had some pretty nice days...except for today! It's cold, and snowing like nobody's business.

Last night we (the dollars) had another show at nite cap lounge in Chicago, and just like last time I think it went really well!

1 pass are you ready?

[ mood | awake ]

I'm actually updating this thing! It only took like a year in a half. So let's see, what have I been doing?? Well, Amy and I are getting married! Don't have a date yet but we will soon. I like typing in short sentences. What else....oh yeah, as of May 4th i'll be an official member of evenflow!!! I'm also playing with them at the House of Blues in cleveland next weekend.

I gotta go find out what the hell the dogs are barking at, until then...

are you ready?

What a Trip [13 Oct 2004|06:37am]
[ mood | awake ]

We just got back yesterday from our road trip. I'll try not to make this too long. Before the show in St. louis we were hanging around outside the venue when pearl jam pulled up. They all got out and waved as they walked into the venue. Eddie came back out to talk with us, I thanked him for doing this tour and I gave him one of our (the dollars) pics. He looked at it and said "i'll use it tonight". He then gave me one of his pics, I got the better of the deal LOL. Amy had told him about brain of j (our pearl jam cover band), so he looks at us and says "at least you guys look good". LOL Okay, fast forward to inside. Our seats were incredible, the front row people leaned on the stage and we were about five feet from it. Before they came out I noticed eddie had all of his picks on top of his amp, with one yellow one. I was like "holy shit, he's IS going to use ours". During betterman and the new world he used it and then gave it back to me. That was amazing not to mention a great show, they played alone! Okay, now onto florida.

We left around 10:30 a.m., unfortunately without jeanette or dan. The drive down was'nt really all that bad until we got on the florida turnpike. We missed our exit because the sign was gone, I'm assuming from the hurricane's. We ended up going way out of our way and did'nt get to our hotel until 5 a.m. Speaking of the hurricane's, there is still quite a bit of damage down there. Those people went through a lot. We stayed at a villa in the Wyndham Palms Resort. It was so nice, we had a dining room, kitchen, living room with a huge t.v., two bathrooms and a bedroom with a hot tub. The day of the show we met up with Bob and Anna, very very cool people! We grabbed some food and headed to the venue. As we were tailgating this guy comes up asking if he can take some pictures of me (he liked the John Kerry shit I had on). I said yeah and the next thing I know he's gone, oh well. LOL Later we're getting ready to go inside when this guy comes up and asks if we're in the dollars, that's a really good felling especially when we're that far from home. It turns out he's friends with the guys in evenflow, and he really likes our band! As we're talking the picture guy LOL came back and started taking a bunch of pictures of me. I acted like I did'nt notice, I kinda felt like a rockstar. LOL So I ask him if he works for anybody or if he's just taking pictures. Get this, he works for Rolling Stone! He took down all of my info including the names of our bands! Our name might get more popular than our music. LOL

Okay, on with the show. As soon as Gob Roberts (a band that Tim Robbins is in...who rocks!) started playing I knew it was going to be a great show. Eddie came out during his set dressing in a sparkling silver suit with a devils mask on. LOL. When PJ took the stage the crowd went nuts and never let up. During Daughter I threw up amys red white and blue wristband and ed wore it for the rest of the night. Gob Roberts and Death Cab joined Pearl Jam for a great version of Rockin in the Free World. It was the longest and in my opinion the best show of the tour, I'm sad it's over. LOL

Florida itself was amazing, the weather was perfect. We spent alot of time at downtown disney, a really cool place you should check out. We also went to typhoon lagoon, that was so much fun! You can never get too old for that! It was a great trip and I can't wait to do it again.

So much for this not being very long. LOL

I left our alot of details, I'll add them later. :P

St. Louis [05 Oct 2004|09:11am]
[ mood | back hurts ]

We got here last night around 6 or so, our hotel is sweet. The lobby is waaaay to elegant for us, and the room has these double french doors that go into a living room. werd. We're seeing the show pearl jam show tonight and heading to florida tomorrow morning. My back hurts, I'm done typing now.

are you ready?

ROCK! [01 Oct 2004|10:50am]
[ mood | ecstatic ]

Thanks to amy we'll be seeing pearl jam in the second row in st. louis!!! Ames, you rule.

are you ready?

DUMBASS [30 Sep 2004|11:44pm]
[ mood | anxious ]

I, as I'm sure a lot of you watched the debates tonight and all I can say is our "leader" is a complete moron. Let's pretend for a second that he didn't do all of these bad things such as misleading everyone, lying about a war and in turn getting our troops killed. Let's even do the imaginable and pretend that dubya has actually done something worth while in the past four years. Now, even with all of that I could never vote for someone who is dumber than me. I'm not saying I'm stupid, but I believe our president should be smarter than me. After tonight I think that bush has lost the election himself, in fact at this point he'd even lose if running against no one. You know, they say that some people still like bush because he "talks like them". What does that say about our county? I don't want to be viewed by the world by a county full of dumbasses. I'm sorry I'm kind of all over place tonight, he'll do that to someone.

On the other side of the coin, I think John Kerry did an excellent job tonight and seemed much more like a president than daddy's boy did. I'm proud to support Kerry and I hope it made the "undeciders" and even some bush supporters realize it's time for bushie to go. Everyone was talking before the debate about how Kerry was so unprepared and how the "lights and sirens" will throw him off track. Looks like bush was the lost little monkey. So on that note, see ya later dubya, don't let the door kick you in the ass.

are you ready?

New Layout [26 Sep 2004|08:38pm]
[ mood | sick ]

I was bored with my old layout for a while now, problem is I'm too damn lazy and busy to do anything about it. Lucky for me amy (neenerbean) spends 25 hours a day (don't ask me how) LOL on the computer so she did it for me. Yes, she indeed rocks.

So you're probably wondering why I'm busy, okay well maybe not. Anywho I've been mixing and mastering our demo and it's taking me for fucking ever. It's cool though because i'm learning so much and actually enjoying myself. It'll be done by the end of the week....or else I'm shooting someone. LOL

VERY IMPORTANT [23 Sep 2004|02:06pm]
Mandatory draft for males and females (ages
18-26)starting June 15, 2005, is something that
everyone should know about. This literally effects
everyone since we all have or know children that will
have to go if this bill passes.

There is pending legislation in the house and senate
(companion bills: S89 and HR 163) which will time the
program's initiation so the draft can begin as early
as spring, 2005, just after the 2004 presidential
election. The administration is quietly trying to get
these bills passed now, while the public's attention
is on the elections, so our action on this is needed
immediately. Details and links follow.

This plan, among other things, eliminates higher
education as a shelter and includes women in the
draft. Also, crossing into Canada has already been
made very difficult.

Actions:
Please send this on to all the parents and teachers
you know, and all the aunts and uncles, grandparents,
godparents. . .

And let your children know - - it's their future, and
they can be a powerful voice for change!

This legislation is called HR 163 and can be found in
detail at this
website: http://thomas.loc.gov/
Just enter in "HR 163" and click search and will bring
up the bill for you to read. It is less than two pages
long.

If this bill passes, it will include all men and ALL
WOMEN from ages 18 - 26 in a draft for military
action. In addition, college will no longer be an
option for avoiding the draft and they will be signing
an agreement with Canada which will no longer permit
anyone attempting to dodge the draft to stay within
it's borders. This bill also includes the extention of
military service for all those that are currently
active. If you go to the selcet service web site and
read their 2004 FYI Goals you will see that the
reasoning for this is to increase the size of the
military in case of terrorism. This is a critical
piece of legislation, this will effect our
undergradates, our children and our grandchildren.

Please take the time to write your congressman and let
them know how you feel about this legislation.
www.house.gov <http://www.house.gov/> www.senate.gov
<http://www.senate.gov/>

Please also write to your representatives and ask them
why they aren't telling their constituents about these
bills and write to newspapers and other media outlets
to ask them why they're not covering this important
story.

$28 million has been added to the 2004 selective
service system budget to prepare for a military draft
that could start as early as June 15, 2005. Selective
service must report to Bush on March 31, 2005 that the
system, which has lain dormant for decades, is ready
for activation.

Please see www.sss.gov/perfplan_fy2004.html to view
the Selective Service System annual performance plan,
fiscal year 2004. The pentagon has quietly begun a
public campaign to fill all 10,350 draft board
positions and 11,070 appeals board slots nationwide.
Though this is an unpopular election year topic,
military experts and influential members of congress
are suggesting that if Rumsfeld's prediction of a
"long, hard slog" in Iraq and Afghanistan (and
permanent state of war on terrorism)proves accurate,
the U.S. may have no choice but to draft.

the Universal National service Act of 2003, "to
provide for the common defense by requiring that all
young persons(age
18-26) in the United States, including women, perform
a period of military service or a period of civilian
service in furtherance of the national defense and
homeland security, and for other purposes."

These active bills currently sit in the committee on
armed services. Dodging the draft will be more
difficult than those from the Vietnam era. College and
Canada will not be options. In December, 2001, Canada
and the U.S. signed a "smart border declaration,"
which could be used to keep would-be draft dodgers in.
Signed by Canada's minister of foreign affairs, John
Manley, and U.S. Homeland Security director, Tom
Ridge, the declaration involves a 30 point plan which
implements, among other things, a "pre-clearance
agreement" of people entering and departing each
country. Reforms aimed at making the draft more
equitable along gender and class lines also eliminates
higher education as a shelter. Underclassmen would
only be able to postpone service until the end of
their current semester. Seniors would have until the
end of the academic year.

What to do: Tell your friends,Contact your legislators
and ask them to oppose these bills Just type
"congress" into the aol search engine and input your
zip code. A list of your reps will pop up with a way
to email them directly. We can't just sit and pretend
that by ignoring it, it will go away. We must voice
our concerns and create the world we want to live in
for our children and grandchildren

Last Night [20 Sep 2004|10:06am]
[ mood | sore ]

We were part of a benefit show last night. I had a good time although couldn't figure out why nobody showed up. Now, if it were just us playing then that might make sense, we don't really have a following yet. But the fact that pretty well-known bands were playing AND not to mention it was promoted really well, even some radio time I would have thought SOME people would come. I think by the time we left there might have been about 5 paid people, and that's pushing it. It's nobody's fault, I just feel bad for the guy who put on the show. Better luck next time I guess, lol.

The Dollars [09 Sep 2004|12:29pm]

Sticky outside [04 Sep 2004|07:49pm]
[ mood | sticky ]

A few of my friends and I went down to the city for the day. We did'nt really do much more than just hang out but it was still fun. The only bad part was the fact that it's so sticky outside, it's 77 so the temp is nice but it feels like crap with the humidity.

It looks like the hurricane is starting to hit florida. I hope our hotel will still be standing, and more importantly I hope every one who did'nt evacuate will be okay. Stay safe all you floridians! :)

Tomorrow I'm going to help amy out with shit around the house because I'm cool like that. Maybe we'll also play softball? ;)

We Can Play That Game Too... [02 Sep 2004|10:48pm]
[ mood | determined ]

20 reasongs to hate bush, taken from "rock against Bush 1" cd:

1. The National Debt under Bush Jr. has increased so drastically that the average American's estimated share of national debt will be an astronomical $24,000, compared to $500 when dubya first took office.

2. Under Bush Jr. there are now 43 million Americans with no heath insurance.

3. Responsible for an unemoyment rate of 6%. There are now 9 Million people out of work in America - 3.3 million more than when Bush took office.

4. He cut healthcare benifits for war veterans.

5. Bush Jr. deserted his unit during vietnam and was reportedly AWOL for over a year from his assigned unit: The texas air national guard, or as it's referred to by other military outfits, the "champagne division".

6. Despite a 13% unemployment rate among those aged 16-24, Bush Jr. proposed to eliminate youth opportunity grants - A program that provides job training to the nation's youth. A $223M program in 2002 is now being done away with so Bush can have more money for Iraq.

7. He cut funding for 375,000 low income college students and reduced pell grant amounts to such a severe degree that it effectively caused 84,000 students to no longer be eligible for pell grants. Pell amounts have been overall reducek for 1.5 million students...It's safe to say that the Bush daughters aren't eligible for financial aid, so this won't affect the opulent lives of anyone Bush Jr. may know.

8. Withdrew from the international criminal court.

9. First president in US history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. elections)

10. All-time U.S. (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign donations

11. The Bush administration had twice as many FBI agents fighting the drug war than fighting terrorism prior to 9/11.

12. His proposed "free trade" agreements would result in the loss of U.S. jobs to foreign markets and the exploitation of third would workers.

13. John Ashcroft

14. He has taken 11 offical executive actions to undermine reproductive rights...How long will it be before a woman is stripped of her right to choose?

15. Failed to fulfill pledge to get Osama Bin Ladin "dead or alive"

16. Wasted federal resources on a PR trip to Baghdad where he staged a thanksgiving mean at 6 a.m. with troops that screened based on their political affiliation. And the turkey? It was a prop.

17. His refusal to fire - or even peprimand - LT. General Jerry "our god is bigger than thier god" Boykin. Perhaps it's because Boykin said of the president, "George Bush was not elected by a majority of voters in the United States. He was appointed by god. He's in the White House because god put him there."

18. After sending troops off to die in an unjust and unprovoked war, he still has yet to attend any soldiers' funerals.

19. His shameless nepotism for the rich and powerful. Elizabeth Cheney (daughter of ol' Dick) got hooked up with a cool gig at the state department where she was in charge of the $129 million middle east partnership initiative and the was moved over to daddy and uncle Dubya's payroll.

20. He dropped his dog on it's head.

WHAT A SHOCK! [02 Sep 2004|10:42pm]
[ mood | angry ]

I just happend to stumble across dubya's speech tonight at the RNC and guess what? He was bashing Kerry! I think Jon Stewart made a really good point by saying "who has been in the office for the past four years, because they haven't talked about that at all". Oh, and he said that to John McCain. Jon Stewart is the shit.

fuck bush.

Makes Me Sick [02 Sep 2004|10:36am]
[ mood | determined ]

I watched part of Dick Cheney's speech last night and I wanted to throw something through the t.v. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that it was'nt mine. He did not give me one good reason through-out the whole speech to vote for bush. Instead he spent all his time, as every body else did bashing kerry. What a bunch of crap, it's not kerry's fault that your guy is'nt worth talking about. Think about it, if they did'nt mention kerry the speeches would have been about two minutes long. The only non-kerry thing that was said was when he used 9/11 to gain political power. I fucking hate that administration. I hate when they say "John Kerry voted for the war, and then against it". Wake up and smell the fucking coffie DICK, he changed his mind because DUBYA mislead everybody. One more thing and then I'm done. I found it funny when the crowd would start chanting "flip flop", way to act like a bunch of three year olds.

I can't wait until we get rid of them.

road trip! [20 Aug 2004|09:34am]
[ mood | rockin! LOL ]

We got tickets for the upcoming pearl jam shows in St. Louis and Florida! We're going to drive down to St. Louis the day before to kind of just hang out. Then head out to florida the day after the show and stay there for...I don't know how long. LOL I can't wait, it'll be my longest road trip and that's saying a lot because I go on quite a few :P. It'll be nice to be in florida again, aside from the bugs and occasional hurricane (never really hits orlando) that place is great.

In other news, I plan on adding a little here and there to my car over time, just for fun. I'm starting small, I put in a k&n filter and plan on getting high-performance spark plugs and some sort of light for the interior so I can see my change at night. I'm not sure if I'll do a blue LED light or just a white one. There's a whole list of major things I might do in the future, like new rims, spolier, fogs, new exhaust, and maybe a turbo. Oh yeah, and new tires too...but I'll just wait until I need them.
